MAC

Tourism has changed my life completely. It has allowed me to learn about new places and cultures, and to be a part of helping the local community

Sararwut (Mac) Saikaew graduated in Hotel and Tourism Management from Prince of Songkhla University in Phuket in 2008. He has worked in the hotel industry ever since, usually in small hotels. Mac fell in love with the hotels designed by Bill Bensley, and ended up working at one of them – The Siam Hotel in Bangkok. It is here that he met Jason Friedman who inspired him to work in luxury hotels. In 2017, Mac moved to Cambodia for the opening of the Shinta Mani Siem Reap under the Bensley Collection, and subsequently the Shinta Mani Wild. He started as head butler, and for the past 18 months Mac has served as the acting camp manager.

“Tourism has changed my life completely. It has allowed me to learn about new places and cultures, and to be a part of helping the local community, especially, since I moved to Cambodia and worked for the Shinta Mani Hotels group. We have helped so many under-privileged Cambodians to improve their living through the Shinta Mani Foundation. We run many programs such as healthcare and education. It is very rewarding to see so many graduates from the Shinta Mani School of Hospitality who have now become managers in our hotels.”
