Suzanne Becken

Suzanne’s particular expertise lies in the application of systems thinking to tourism. The research projects that interest her include the efficient use of natural resources (e.g. fossil fuels), climate change mitigation and adaptation, policy and human behaviour. She is leading projects that span the full spectrum of scientific research, science communication and knowledge transfer, and implementation into practical outcomes. Suzanne works closely with both public and private sector partners and stakeholders.

Regenerative tourism or leaving a place better than you found it seeks to balance the economics of tourism with the well-being of its natural resources and communities.
